An experiment of incubation soil with organic matter (castor bean meal) was carried out in pots in order to test the effects of the organic matter on the moisture retention capacity of four soils of the Piracicaba municipality, State of São Paulo, Brasil. It was found that the organic matter increased the moisture retention capacity of the soils significantly at the levels of 5% (two soils) and 1% (two soils).Downloads
