Abstract

Chomard's analytical method is operationally simple but rather involved in calculation procedure. A computer programe is presented to determine the angle 2V, the optical sign of the mineral and the direction cosines of the optical axes. An example of the application of the method for a plagioclase twinning is presented and the values of 2 V compared with other methods.
