In Brazil, black and indigenous people, especially quilombola communities, stand out as vulnerable groups in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. These subjects occupy high positions in the mortality rates of the pandemic. The article aims to reflect the impacts of this pandemic on the quilombola communities in the Brazilian state of Ceará. It makes an overview of realities in different regions of Ceará and specifically, those people living the Quilombo Sítio Veiga (Sertão Central), Quilombo de Alto Alegre (metropolitan area of the capital) and Quilombo do Cumbe (East Coast). As methodological assumptions, it presents an ethnographic account based on the authors’ experiences, as researchers, representatives, and residents of the respective quilombola communities
