The essay presents a letter and a photographic composition made from Joaquim José da Cruz's personal collection after his death. Joaquim José da Cruz was the last living Moçambique in the city of Poços de Caldas, in the south of Minas. He danced at the festivities for São Benedito, Nossa Senhora do Rosário and Santa Ifigênia for more than sixty years. A few months before his departure, he wished to have his images and personal collection passed on.
