In this testimony, the mimic Eduardo Coutinho talks on the professional and intellectual challenges that a mimic livesnowadays in Brazil and the ways that took him to the stage and academic life, showing that mime can also be object of study and
research. In this route, masters as Evreinov, Meyerhold, Étienne Decroux, Tomaszewski and Dario Fo, guided his posture as actor
and researcher and built the theoretical framework used for the practical approach presented in the thesis that made him the
first PhD in Mime in Brazil.
