This report refers to an experience during the 1st semesterof2007 in the Project of Continuing Education for Teachers that is being practiced in the municipal district of São Caetano
do Sul, under orientation of the Project DICA (Didactics, Information, Culture and Art). The educator, Cristiane Fernandes
Tavares, after tackling the importance of literary texts reading as permanent classroom activity with a group of 25 teachers
of the Basic Education 3rd year, reflects on the conceptions that some teachers revealed about the activities of literary reading and the contributions brought by the experience.
