Here we briefly deal with the work method adopted in treating the Italian language during the shootings of two Globo Network soaps [O rei do gado (the king of Catle) and Esperança (Hope)], based on themes connected to the Italian emigration. The various phases of intervention in the original text (written by the author) will be highlighted: from the preparatory and discovery phase, to the partial rewriting; from the long pronunciation practice the actors went through to the moment of shooting. The final objective was to establish a number of conventions that once followed would convey a model of the Italian language that sounded credible and worked on the TV; an initiative that represents yet another instance of cultural integration between Brazil and Italy.Downloads
