Abstract

During the month of May 2016, MidiaSon and ECA-USP were joined by Professor David King Dunaway for a short-term course on radiodocumentary production. David Dunaway is a radio producer, historian and professor of English and Literature at the University of New Mexico. We invite the professor to talk about his work as an oral history researcher and, especially, the importance of radio documentary today. The interview was organized in three parts: the first focuses on the career and some of the most relevant productions of Professor Dunaway. The second part discusses the specificities of radio broadcast production. The third part focuses on subjects such as communities, radio activism, and broadcasting strategies for radiodocumentary.
