Abstract

The problematization of some aspects inherent to a forming field as the one related to the Environmental Education research is the task we have purposed ourselves when we began analysing the research reports selected for presentation at the I Research Meeting on Environmental Education (I EPEA, in Portuguese) (2001), in what refers to their methodological perspectives. Aspects such as concerning with the social importance, adoption of several social places as forming places, valorization of pedagogical alternatives which contribute to the building of knowledge webs, among others, were understood as improvements to the building of a committed research perspective. At the same time, it's totally noticeable the lack of consensus and critical background for the undertaking of investigative processes which may attend the criteria of academic rigor, which are still imprecise for this field.
