Abstract

The article deals with the process of learning about investigation in journalism, when the reporter searches for information to build a news or report. Journalism employs various controversial means to obtain information, unethically affecting both the most marginalized and the most powerful social strata. From three ethnographic situations presented for reflection (the lecture of an established journalist; the lecture of a "araponga", a detective hired by a journalistic company; and, finally, the lecture of a former "araponga", on etiquette and personal marketing) the relations between multiple social investigative agencies will be discussed, including the act of researching journalism.
