Black men and women created diversified uplift strategies during the nineteenth century, in the slave regime. Among these strategies, it is worth mentioning the involvement with the graphic production - as authors or publishers. This article aims to expose some representatives of a black intellectual elite and a possible seizure of some elements that have created the conditions for such a group existed.Downloads
