The study of the family Polygonaceae is a part of the project"Flora of Serra do Cipó, Minas Gerais, Brasil". In that area the family is represented by two genera: Coccoloba, with 5 species (C. acrostichoides, C. brasiliensis, C. cereifera, C. salicifolia and C. scandens), and Polygonum, with 3 species (P. ferrugineum, P. hydropiperoides and. P. punctatum). Key, descriptions and illustrations, as well as comments on the geographic distribution, phenology and variability of the species are presented.Downloads
