Abstract

By presenting affirmative action policies and the work of the Heteroidentification Commission at the Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG), the article aims to achieve critical reflections on structural and institutional racism that makes use of raciality devices to ensure racial privileges in access to the university and in society as a whole. Even though considerable progress can be identified in the application of reparatory policies in universities, the challenges posed are still great due to the capacity of Brazilian racism to update and become more sophisticated.
