Abstract

João Lourindo, Raiz do Buieié presents the daily life of one of the oldest resident from the Quilombo' comunity Buieié, at rural area of Viçosa, Minas Gerais. The essay register in a positive and unique way of how João faces the reality and problems on a daily base. In addition, it also explores the deep relation between him and the place where he lives. All photographies are in black and white and were taken between December 2013 and January 2014.
