The main goal of this paper is to report and discuss how students from a distance learning Language and Literature course from Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul access the contents available in some learning resources produced in Spanish. Do they read them on screen or on paper? What kind of media do they usually use to open the course files? How do they evaluate the way the course materials are made available? In general, we found that most of the students still prefer reading from paper. In order to access digital files, they frequently use laptops and desktops. Most of the students positively evaluate the opportunity of receiving printed material from the university, such as textbooks. The data obtained in this study suggest the need of further research, since printed textbooks will be no longer produced by the university anymore due to budget cutbacks.Downloads
