Abstract

"A Month in Moscow" is a travel account focused on the Russian metropolis in the mythic year of 2000. These texts reflect the life of the metropolis, its problems, and its inhabitants. Renowned Cuban novelist, translator and essayist Jose Manuel Prieto arrive in Moscow ar a unique moment in its recent history, when it was going through profound transformations, and had the opportunity to interview the protagonists of these changes.

Author Biography

  • José Manuel Prieto
    Narrador, ensaísta e tradutor cubano. Autor de vários romances, dentre os quais vale destacar Nocturnal Butterflies of the Russian Empire y Rex, ambos traducidos ao inglês, francês e alemãoFoi bolsista do  Center for Scholars and Writers da the New York Public Library y da John Simon Guggenheim Foundation. É profesor asistente da Seton Hall University e foi profesor convidado da Universidad de Cornell ePrinceton Univesity. Atualmente reside em Nueva York, onde acaba de terminar seu mais recente romance, Voz humana.
