El siguiente artículo tiene por objetivo revisar el binomio Ariel-Caliban como “ficciones culturales”, en el sentido que el crítico Julio Ramos le otorga al término, así como sus implicancias histórico-literarias. Para ello, colocaremos críticamente en diálogo los textos que dieron origen al binomio en el contexto político de América Latina desde 1900, año de la publicación del Ariel de José Enrique Rodó, hasta mediados de la década de 1960, cuando, concluida triunfalmente la revolución Cubana, Fernández Retamar publica su Caliban.Downloads
