Abstract

This article aims to discuss the tense relationship established between the Minas Gerais state city of Pouso Alegre and its prostitution zone in the years from 1969 to 1988, that were marked by a moral campaign against prostitution zone at the same time city experienced modernity and progress, reinforcing invisible borderlines and prejudices throughout negative or "necessary evil" based social presentation on prostitution and its zoning.
