Abstract

This article tries to show the similarities between Brazilian Christianity, in its catholic and protestant slopes, principally between peasants, on the choice of sacred places and how this place influence their beliefs and practices, searching their origins on the Judaic thought and another religions conceptions of antiquity. In order to reach this goal, several reports on biblical material are made, as a way to understand the symbolic transposing of these practices to the reality of the Brazilian Christian.
