The present article aims to display the characteristics of a peculiar place in the city of São Paulo based on the description of the recurrent alternative uses in this locality and to answer the following questions: why determined groups appeal for definitive spaces as local of socialization and to which possible standards this process corresponds? That is, what is intended is to understand the phenomenon under the perspective of the behavior of a group associated with a picture of values and in relation to the chosen place as meeting point. For this, some proper concepts of the Sociological School of Chicago have been adopted, such as those of urban structure, human ecology and moral region, beyond other ones appropriated to the treatment of the subject without forgetting the essentially ethnographic and descriptive character of this study.Downloads
