Abstract

At harvest, we always had the lowest level of modernization with the intensive use of manual labor; since the mid 1990s is happening the intensification of mechanical harvesting, causing a restructuring in the social division of labor activity in sugarcane. To examine the effects of modernization in gender relationship at sugar cane culting work in the city of Serrana, region of Ribeirão Preto (SP), was written this work.
