Abstract

In this article, we investigate the theme of travel and learning in the books Home by North American Toni Morrison and Americanah by the Nigerian Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. The vast literary canon presents other works, such as Odyssey, The Ingenious Nobleman Sir
Quixote of La Mancha, Guliver’s Travels, Around the World in 80 Days, among others. Sometimes the outer journey connects to the interior. Books such as Wilhelm Meister’s Apprenticeship represent learning, which is present in An Apprenticeship or The Book of Pleasures. From the studied books, it is verifi ed that there is a relation between the trip
and the learning with the personages in the construction of the narratives.
