Abstract

The number of evicted families in rural areas has increased considerably in Brazilian territory over the last three decades. According to the Pastoral Land Commission (CPT). Thus being, it is important to understand that the expropriation proceedings are established in first instance, by mechanisms of violence, which features an extra economic characteristic. In this perspective,
contemporary research, either on the labor analogous to slavery, or on the exploitation of rural workers, refers to reflections of violent processes which were compelling all over the rural areas of the country and especially in the Brazilian state of Goiás between the years 1985 and 2010. The Data on murder and persecution of rural workers, provided by CPT, clarifies the phenomenon of violence in the countryside and in turn, the underlying territorial issue. In this sense, the main goal of this article in question is to apprehend the phenomenon of violence in lands in Goiás and its relation to the processes of capital accumulation in the rural fields between 1985 and 2010, considering, therefore, the territorial dynamics occasioned by a global logic of capitalist accumulation and expansion.
