This article offers a critical reading of a book recently published in Brazil and entitled “Marcas da Terra, Marcas na Terra” (Soil’s Prints, Prints in the Soil). The work of the authoress is a sensible approach in the vast field of history and contemporary historiography. The book provides a dialogue with other fields of thought and research, including Sciences of Education, Anthropology and study issues related to the migration of populations / rural and farming communities fields
