The article discusses the young people’s interest in funk balls. It analyzes, based on statements made by students and educators, how the contemporaneous society, increasingly mediated by the technological media, makes interpersonal relationships ever so much more difficult to have and, thus, creates the need for meeting spaces. The author analyzes the funk balls as a phenomenon that attends to this need: being with people, no matter how. The author concludes the article talking about the importance of there being dialogue between young people and adults, educators and students.
