Abstract

The article discusses the narrative potential telenovela and other television fiction products have, such as a genre that for a long time, in Brazil, has been contarninated by daily life, by themes that compose our society's main storylines. The television language is alço considered educational, in broad terrns, being, many times, more in tune with reality than the journalistic discourse itself. The television fictional narrative, according to the author, recovers the myths present in the stories told in the city squares, street markets, in books, and which are part of the different cultures.
