Abstract

Based on the stories of the Rede Globo 8 o’clock telenovelas, from 2000 to 2008, this article aims to reflect on the love and/or sexual relationships in actuality – vehicled by feuilletons and which echo in reality. These love and sexual relationships are presented under the most different shapes and contexts. Would this diversity of relationships be characteristic of the contemporary society, of the liquid modernity? Do we live the confluent love based on personal interests? Do the individual, in the beginning of the XXIst century, in reality want to have wings and fix roots? Which is the place of telenovela in the building of social imaginary on what is to be a man and a woman? Does it create or reproduce? Which is the impact of narratives in the education of new generations? What has school to do with it?
