Abstract

The author analyzes the book Memórias da Telenovela: Programas e recepção (Soap Opera Memories: Programs and Reception), launched in 2011 by Professor Isabel Férin Cunha, who discusses the importance and the trajectory of the soap opera (telenovela) in the formation of the Portuguese culture, relating it with Portugal’s own history and socio-economic organization.
