Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
All submissions must meet the following requirements.
This text is original, it was not previously published or submitted to another journal / preprint platform. If this is not the case, please write us at filosofiaalema@usp.br before submitting your work.
The submission file is in format DOC or DOCX.
Articles must contain:
- Title - in the same language of the article and (if this is not the present language) in English.
- Abstract with until 100 words - in the same language of the article and (if this is not the present language) in English.
- Keywords (3 – 5) - in the same language of the article and (if this is not the present language) in English.
- Bibliographical references must be listed in the last page, following APA (American Psychological Association) guidelines.
All submissions must follow the editorial norms, policies, stylistic patterns and bibliographical requisites of the journal as described in https://www.revistas.usp.br/filosofiaalema
URLs and DOIs must be informed whenever possible (for example: for translated articles that already had a DOI assigned).
Authors must inform their professional data (institution, position, titles, ORCID ID) in the assigned field of the register form.
No information about the author or that can identify the authorship must be listed in the text.
Articles
Currently, Cadernos de Filosofia Alemã: Crítica e Modernidade publishes articles in Portuguese, Spanish, French and English.
The articles can be submitted at any time in our website (in case of doubt, contact us sending a message to filosofiaalema@usp.br). If in accordance with our policies and norms, the texts are sent to double blind review.
The articles must contain until 45,000 characters (including spaces). Title must be informed in the same language of the article and (if this is not the present language) in English. It also must contain an Abstract with until 100 words and - Keywords (3 – 5) - both in the same language of the article and (if this is not the present language) in English.
Bibliographical references must be listed in the last page, following APA (American Psychological Association) guidelines.
Reviews
Cadernos de Filosofia Alemã: Crítica e Modernidade publishes reviews in Portuguese, Spanish, French and English about one or several books with a related subject and presently relevant. It is not required that the reviewed book was published in Brazil.
The texts must contain until 20,000 characters (including spaces). A title must be informed in the same language of the review and (if this is not the present language) in English. Bibliographical references must be listed in the last page, following APA (American Psychological Association) guidelines.
Translations
Cadernos de Filosofia Alemã: Crítica e Modernidade publishes translations to Portuguese of classic / relevant texts, except when the original is in Spanish.
The texts must contain until 45,000 characters (including spaces). Title must be informed in the same language of the translation and (if this is not the present language) in English. Bibliographical references must be listed in the last page, following APA (American Psychological Association) guidelines.
Authors must also send us the original work from which the translation is derived and the authorization for publication in an open-acess journal by the owner of its rights (if it applies).
The translation can be preceded by a short presentation written by the translator or others, which also will be evaluated in blind review.
Interviews
Cadernos de Filosofia Alemã: Crítica e Modernidade publishes interviews in Portuguese, Spanish, French and English with intellectuals who have given important contributions on fields related to the research lines covered by this periodic. They must be preceded by a brief presentation of the interviewed and the context of the interview.
The texts must contain until 40,000 characters (including spaces). A title and 3-5 Keywords must be informed - both in the same language of the interview and (if this is not the present language) in English. Bibliographical references must be listed in the last page, following APA (American Psychological Association) guidelines.

Information and conceptions on the texts are complete responsibility of the authors.
All the articles submitted before July 5th 2018 and those published after July 2021 are licensed under a CC BY-NC-ND license – except those published between the aforementioned dates, which are under the CC BY-NC-SA license. The permission for the translation of the material published under the license CC BY-NC-ND by third parts can be obtained with the consent of the author.
Open access policies - Diadorim
For articles published after July 5, 2018, the authors retain copyright to their works. The rights to articles published prior to that date have been assigned to the journal Cadernos de filosofia alemã. For republication of ceded content, authors should contact the journal and provide the credit for the first publication in a footnote.

Names and addresses registered in our journal will be used exclusively for purposes of this publication and will not be shared with third parties or used for other ends.
