Abstract

The present piece of research is based on previous findings from medical and psychological reports on children malnutrition and deficiency in the Maroni Valley. It studies the mothering behaviours of Bushi-Nenghe mothers. Submitted to new socioeconomic and political conditions, the mothers show new mothering practices, trying to combine, under that influence, modern and traditional practices. As a result, a corporeal and affective detachment is produced in the attachment, which leads, in part, to the questioning of the role of the Moi-Peau, constitutive of the Ego.
