Abstract

The goal of this paper is to analyze the expository discourse regarding the history of the smallpox vaccine as it is presented at the Museu de Microbiologia (MMB), part of the Instituto Butantan, in the perspective of History and Philosophy of Science (HPS) in Science Teaching (ST) and the geo-historical. This resulted in the finding of a single panel, which presented little information regarding this theme and had a tradicional  view of HPS in ST based on the categories created from the theoretical framework defined.
