Abstract

The aim of the present article is to place briefl y some academic debates in the bibliography about Alexandria, concerning especially the episode about its foundation by Alexander, the way the Ptolemy’s established their reign in the city and the means b y which it’s social and cultural order is perceived . We will locate in a summarized way some manners the city was defined and understood in historiography
