Abstract

After decades of mutual irrelevance, political relations between Spain and Brazil intensified in the last years of twentieth century, leading to a new phase of strategic partnership. However, since 2010, in the context of deep crisis that Spain is undergoing, and due to the international rise of Brazil, bilateral relations have been redefined in order to come to terms with the new priorities of both countries, emphasizing crucial aspects such as science and technology, infrastructures, and identification of potential sectors for the growth of commercial exchanges.
