Abstract

It was observed for the first time in the State of São Paulo/Brazil 10 clinical cases of pregnancy toxaemia in goats and ewes examined at the Veterinary Hospital of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechny of the University of São Paulo. All the animals were 3 to 8 years old and were in the last period of their pregnancy. The history and the clinical examination, laboratory and necroscopic results are here presented. Based on this information the ethiopathogeny and the diagnosis of the pregnancy toxaemia are discussed.
