Normal levels of Alkaline phosphatase, total, direct and indirect bilirubin, and transaminases (ALT and AST) were determined in ninety milk goats reared in the State of São Paulo .The animals aged between two months and six years. The breeds evaluated were: Saanen, Alpine and cross breed animals. Age and breed were taken into account when analyzing these parameters. There was no statistic difference for none of the tests attributable to age. Concerning breeds, Saanen showed higher serum levels of direct bilirubin when compared to Alpine and cross-bred animals; and Alpine showed higher AST serum levels than cross-breed animals. Serum levels of total bilirubin and indirect bilirubin, ALT and alkaline phosphatase show no statistical difference when the breed was concerned.
