Abstract

The social network object has becoming more and more operative for the studies of the contemporary societies, answering to a noticed exigency of social theory's complexification from practical demands, being not just configured as a functional phenomenon, but as an analysis instrument of the new social order. Such operativity can especially be verified in studies in the fields of sociology, of anthropology and, more recently, in the health and mental health field. In this last field specifically, the social network has occupied the place of one of the factors that more contributes to the sustainability of the people's daily life with severe mental illness out of the psychiatric circuits of dependence.
