Abstract

The work inclusion of handicapped people is a field of challenges for psychosocial rehabilitation staff and it demands new practices focused on the recognition of work as right. This article aims to discuss these challenges in order to overcome the conception of therapeutic and protected work that, in many ways, reproduces social patterns of diversity devaluation. It presents social cooperatives perspective as one possible way to enhance public policies and of innovative projects that seek to the creation of enterprises that allow work inclusion of handicapped person and stimulates social participation and different values production.
