Abstract

The aim of this resear was to suggest guidelines for creating a manual for care of post-stroke patients from the perspective of caregivers and healthcare professionals. This is a qualitative study through 40 individual interviews. analyzed using the content analysis method, which pointed the need for: support for the execution of daily life activities and psychological support for the caregiver; development of practical and affective aspects of healthcare; and professional training for improving the caregiver’s knowledge about the disease and daily life activities. It is, thus, recommended that manuals for the management of post-stroke patients are created and used.
