Abstract

The article aims to present the profi le of workers requiring the benefits aid-disease at the Social Security Xanxerê Agency in Santa Catarina, in addition to economic activities that stood out for having the highest rates of removal in the region. This is a descriptive and quantitative study, conducted from 2009 to 2012 from the report issued by the Unifi ed System of Social Security Benefits. For data analysis we used the SPSS software. The sample consisted of 2.768 records of benefits aid-disease accident. The workers were most affected by the Musculoskeletal
and Connective Tissue Diseases. Most were male, aged between 40 and 49 years old, worked as employees in urban centers with monthly wage up to the minimum wage. The Insured workers work mostly in the General Public Administration services. The results can be used as the basis of joint strategies for the prevention of work-related diseases and implementation of public policies by SUS.
