A study of the presence of filth in contemporary art

This article questions the exhibition of filth or garbage in art. Semen, urine, blood, faeces and other human fluids are materials that are incorporated into modern art. The interest of this study lies not in the interpretation of particular works but in the set of images that affect the contemporaries of these artists. These works are understood as visual representations of the complexity of contemporary art and a reflection of the state of a culture, its value system, and its alterations and moments of pessimism
