This review aims to bring the reader a brief exposé on the book Da leveza: rumo a uma civilização sem peso of Gilles Lipovetsky. The discussion of the book approaches a theme that seems to be central in the behavior of contemporary individuals and as one of the fundamental axes of the society of our times guided by the principle of lightness. In the hypermodern era, which represents the current moment, lightness is a mechanism of social organization and a principle that orders reality itself.
