Abstract

This translational article about the circle of Marina Tsvetáieva’s poems For Akhmátova proceeds to an analysis of this poetic homage genre, passing through a selection of Anna Akhmátova’s poems, to get to a “comparative translation” exercise. Our aim in this work is interpreted Tsvetáieva’s poems in a broader dedicatory context, addressed to Akhmátova in the years 1910-1920, and look for connections and relationships that help us understand these works in the poetic auto-image processes of Akhmátova. In order to accomplish our goal by means of associative interpretation, we’ll offer translations of some poems of both authors.
