Organização de critérios para registro de termos

Abstract

The terminological work, differently from the terminological activity, is an act of getting deeper in a terminological context, investigating  or elaborating conceptual systems and denomination systems; that means, it is a systematic work necessarily  grounded in theoretical principles, peculiar to terminologists. The doctoral research entitled Para um vocabulário sistemático do Código Penal brasileiro (Parte Geral) (Towards a Systematic Vocabulary for the Brazilian Penal Code - General Part),  had the objective of elaborating a systematic vocabulary of the terms of the General Part of the Brazilian Penal Code, which features were lexicologically analysed. To apprehend the transitory fluidness of  legal discourse terms in a present time synchronic signification, diachronically formulated in the historic process of development of Brazilian society which has been updated over with sixty years with each juridical fact, was one of the tasks of this research. At this moment, we intend to present the organization of criteria to register the terms. For this, we gathered ideas of various scholars,  understanding that it is better to collect a greater number of units at first and later eliminate some of them. The act of reading those studies enabled the formulation of criteria for the registry of terms without considering necessary the concomitance of them.  We classified the four hundred and eighty four terms selected in simple terms, composed terms and terminological phraseology. The three types were observed by the conceptual, documental, linguistic (in semantic and morphosyntatic senses) and meta-linguistic criteria. In each criterion, there was a sequence of items to be examined. With this exposition, we think to bring contribution to the scholars involved with the terminographic task, concerning the refinement of  terms.
