Abstract

The sugarcane is one of the most important products of the Brazilian economy. The sugarcane sector is one of the fastest growing sectors in the world and it is one of the most profitable to the country. Within the development of this sector, a great number of terms have appeared, thanks to the emergence of new concepts. On the other hand, there is also a large production of the sector in states where it is not so developed. These terms, on behalf of a successful communication, should be collected and cataloged. This study deals with the terms used by experts and by farmers of the Brazilian sugarcane sector. The aim is to show how the variation in these terms is proportional to specialization in the field.
