Abstract

The young audience whose reading competence is in training, confront with continual crises, and in the pursuit of such competence has at its disposal mediation tools such as television, the internet and other media, which are true facilitators of receiption. However, such resources are questionable when it comes to reading as critical fruition. We propose to approach in The man who calculated, by Malba Tahan, certain features and characteristics that act as attractive responsible for the success achieved by this text by the youth, in a moment of suspension values and reengineering of reading skills.

Author Biography

  • Divino José Pinto, Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Goiás
    Possui graduação em Letras - Faculdade Cora Coralina - Cidade de Goiás (1984), pós-graduação em Língua Portuguesa - CECAP - (1986), mestrado em Letras e Linguística pela Universidade Federal de Goiás (1990), doutorado em Letras pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2005), é pós-doutorando pela PUC- RIO, sob a supervisão do Prof. Dr. Gilberto Mendonça Teles. Atualmente, é professor adjunto da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Goiás, professor estatuário - Secretaria Estadual de Educação e professor da Universidade Estadual de Goiás, com experiência na Educação Básica desde o ano de 1981, com atuação também na área de Letras, na formação de professores, com ênfase no ensino e pesquisa em Teoria e crítica literária, principalmente nos seguintes temas: literatura: literatura comparada: literatura e outras artes, discurso, memória, tradição, tradução e semanálise; literatura, gêneros, história, cultura e linguagem: narrativa, lírica, drama, discurso, espécies e subespécies, interdiscursos.
