Essa entrevista foi feita em Maputo, capital de Moçambique, em dezembro de 2003. Mia Couto me concedeu em seu escritório onde exerce sua face de biólogo. Na avenida Mártires da Machava, uma rua arborizada e tranquila, encontrei-o na frente do computador, fazendo relatórios técnicos sobre recursos naturais. Minha proposta inicial de discutir memória, identidades e escrita diluiu-se nas muitas perspectivas que se formaram na voz de um grande escritor. Falamos sobre a literatura moçambicana e a brasileira.
