The corrosion of the phallocentric report in A Favorita and Avenida Brasil: remains of a certain Almodóvar?

This article recovers the notion of the phallocentric’s report corrosion in Pedro Almodóvar cinema, developed by Eduardo Peñuela Cañizal, with the purpose of discussing narrative strategies and proceedings responsible for thematic and aesthetic innovations in two Brazilian soap-operas: A favorita (2008/2009) and Avenida Brasil (2012), both by João Emanuel Carneiro (Globe Net Television). Focusing on aspects and values attached to the problem of family and gender relations representation plus topological modifications and diegetic articulations which promote destabilizations, subversions and consequent transformations on traditional roles, the analysis deals withfictional television production and Brazilian contemporary reality interrelationships – considering cultural, political, social and economical aspects.
