Abstract

On September 2017 the Federal University of Santa Catarina hosted the I Symposium on Media Critique: How the critics critique?, organized by the Research Group Media Critique and Cultural Practices. During the event, the journalist, film critic and translator José Geraldo Couto debated on the relevance of the critique, the creative and specialized aspect of the work of critics, the pressure of the market, the multiplication of new realms of critique on the internet and the subject of politics approached through film matter.
