Abstract

We present the Miroel Silveira files, the gathering of previous censorship processes from de extinct Public Entertainment Division (Divisão de Diversões Públicas) of São Paulo and the researches being made based on these processes. One of these researches studies the relationship between censorship, theater and cultural industry in Brazil and in Portugal. Approaching the symbolic exchange existent among the media, languages and countries we take the play A Severa, from the Portuguese author Júlio Dantas, as an example, searching for the possible influences of the female character over the building of Brazilian soap opera female heroes.
