Abstract

When we watch a movie we expect our actions not to interfere with the narrative we are seeing. In the digital media we may experience otherwise, situations in which the narrative changes according to our participation. We may interfere with the story and help the characters to solve their problems and wishes, for example. The present work poses a debate over the impacts that the DVD media has perpetrated over cinematographic language comparing Alain Resnais´ Smoking/No Smoking to the interactive DVD Play Smoking/No Smoking, my authorship.
